Vacation

During my vacation I’ve decided to take up origami. Yesterday while waiting to meet Seema and Mechel at Dunkin’ Donuts I got into it. I never knew how hard folding paper could be. For the past few days the highlight of my day has been hanging out with friends. I’m starting to enjoy bus rides lately. I  like taking in the scene–I guess it’s because I’ll be leaving soon. Anyway, here are some pictures from this week:

origami is really hard…i tried the old japanese tradition to fold 1000 cranes…i used to just pack some paper in my bag and while i was on the subway/bus i would fold some….i made it to about 675 and got bored with it…have to work to get the rest finished…from what i’ve heard you either make it for someone ill and it’s suppose to help heal them or you make it for yourself and get a wish of some kind….i just started it for something to do but since i dont know anyone that sick right now, i’m going with the wish… i want to learn to make flowers and such…i know the crane, pig, penguin, star, 3D cube thing and i think that’s it…haha

  2. OMG, I think the crane is the HARDEST. I’ve been trying to make it, but I fail horribly. I think because the instructions are in Korean. I did find some in English, but I still don’t get it. Perhaps it’s the arrow parts I get confused about. I’m sure there’s a video on YouTube or something, but I was kind of hoping I’d get it by reading and studying the diagram. I’m a visual learner, so I think a video would probably do me some good, instead of getting frustrated…:p

Thanks for the comment Ashley! 🙂
